2019 entailed one of the darkest, saddest times of my life.
2019 also gave me some of my favorite memories out of 33 years.
As I look back I see lots of highs and lows, accomplishments, gifts, lessons, growth, losses, along with literal bumps and bruises.
Looking ahead I would say 2020 is likely to bring a lot of those same boxes, only in different wrapping.
You know what though? For maybe the first time God has brought me to a place of not worrying so much about looking backward or forward. Yesterday no longer exists. Tomorrow doesn’t at all.
In some sense there is no yesterday, no tomorrow, there is only now.
Now is not what I would call perfect, but I’ve learned control is an illusion. Now is all I have, and it’s good enough.
Here’s to now, may we breathe it in while we can.
